A Great Weekend in the Idaho Outdoors
I had spent four days in Kooskia, Idaho approximately four to five years back. Two of those days I had spent travelling and hiking, and the other two days I had spent whitewater rafting the beautiful and raging Lochsa River. The scenery in that northern part of the state is astounding, so much so that the roiling river that runs through it has been designated as a Wild and Scenic River. Three Rivers Resort is located along the banks of this ever so beautiful river, and to be honest there is not much else around. This is a place that is truly for those who enjoy the nature of being in the outdoors. If you like hiking or rafting, then this is the place for you.

Obviously, there are a few places providing good food. One of them is right at Three Rivers Resort itself, given that their restaurant has really outstanding food. Other restaurants may be a few miles away, and there are a couple of convenient stores up and down the corridor of Route 12 that can provide quick buys. M ... more
